According to the FBI, Rozier tipped off a group of bettors that he planned to exit a game early. That group then placed $200,000 in bets designed to profit from his early exit.

Sports betting scandals are nothing new — from the 1919 Chicago “Black Sox” players accused of throwing the World Series to Pete Rose’s lifetime ban in 1989 for betting on games as a manager to former Cardinals cornerback Josh Shaw’s 2019 suspension for wagering while on injured reserve.
